The Never Forget Garden at VFW Post 577 was created in 2024 to commemorate the Auxiliary’s 100th anniversary and to honor the enduring sacrifices of America’s veterans. Inspired by the national initiative launched by the Society of the Honor Guard, Tomb of the Unknown Soldier, these gardens serve as living memorials—places of reflection, remembrance, and gratitude.
Our garden is a quiet sanctuary nestled on the post grounds in Tulsa, designed to remind all who visit that the price of freedom is never forgotten. Each flower, each stone, and each flag represents the lives of those who served with honor and courage—many of whom never returned home.
We were especially honored during our dedication ceremony to welcome TGIB 718, a Tomb Guard of the Unknown Soldier, who participated in the event. His presence was a poignant reminder of the sacred duty to remember those who gave everything. As a bearer of the Tomb Guard Identification Badge, he represents one of the highest standards of military discipline and reverence. His contribution to the ceremony brought a sense of solemnity and pride that will not be forgotten.
